We allow people interested in harvesting for seed to come to our farm to harvest. Maps  will be provided. You are allowed to gather fruit or nuts from any tree.   Call 319-729-5905 or email kathy@redfernfarm.com to schedule a harvest date. We do allow primitive camping in our groves to facilitate multiple days of harvest. Some of the trees in our groves:

Imshu: Large nut, thin shell, excellent cracking quality. A John Gordon selection. Seed collected from grafted Imshu mother trees.

Kim K: This small nut has a particularly beautiful heart shape and the very best cracking quality. Seed collected from  our superior seedling, KimK.

Grimo: Ernie Grimo selection. A hybrid between heartnut and American butternut. The very large-sized nut is spiny and resembles a butternut on the outside, but looks and cracks like a heartnut inside. Extra cold hardy.
